Our Journey: From Sailing Dreams to Overlanding Adventures

We originally set out to find the perfect sailboat and circumnavigate the globe once our youngest left for college. However, our plans took an unexpected turn when we discovered the world of overlanding. Just two weeks after our youngest started college, we packed up and embarked on our first adventure, uncovering a passion for exploration by land that we hadn’t anticipated.

Our Background

With a deep-rooted love for the outdoors, our backgrounds are rich with adventure:

• Steve: From hunting, fishing, and camping to racing off-road trucks, 4-wheeling, motocross, street bikes, drag racing, sand cars, sailing, scuba diving, and extensive travel, Steve’s thirst for adventure is matched by a fascination with new technologies and applied skills. He’s happy to share what he’s learned along the way.
• Kiera: An avid traveler and former sailboat resident, Kiera’s passion for exploration began with dreams of sailing into the sunset. Little did we know that crossing into Canada would introduce us to overlanding. A keen amateur photographer, Kiera enjoys scuba diving, kayaking, horseback riding, dancing, and cherishing time with family and friends.

Our Mission

We’re not pursuing this adventure for financial gain. Instead, we created this site in response to the many questions from family and friends about how we started and how we manage our adventures. Our aim is to provide a genuine resource for fellow explorers, offering insights, answering questions, and sharing our experiences. We’re passionate about helping others navigate through the clutter of incomplete or misleading information. Whether you’re seeking practical advice or simply want to follow along with our journey, we’re here to inspire and assist you in exploring new possibilities.
